Bohemian Inspired Makeup | South of France

July 21, 2014

As a makeup artist, I was ecstatic to have the opportunity to create a bohemian-inspired makeup look for a photo shoot among a sea of lavender fields in the south of France. The bride-to-be had chosen a stunning long, flowing white dress, which served as the basis for the style in general.

My goal was to bring out the bride’s innate beauty by applying delicate highlighting to give her skin radiance and neutral colors that gave her a wonderful definition. I wanted the bride’s skin to be highlighted and the look to be understated yet lovely.

To go along with the makeup’s boho inspiration, I wanted to design a delicate, romantic haircut. I did this by gently brushing out the delicate curls I used to create easy waves with lots of movement.

I added a gold coin headpiece to finish the outfit, which brought a touch of elegance and complimented the bohemian theme. Overall, working with the couple in such a beautiful setting was such a delight. The backdrop for the photo session was the lavender fields, and I was able to design a style that complemented the bride’s and the setting’s natural beauty.
